Apparently, the working draft for HTML 5 was released on Feb. 12th. I've very excited about the introduction of a 2D drawing API which can be used with the new canvas element.
I don't know for sure, but it sounds like you'll be able to use scripts to assemble drawings on pages. I don't know how to do this (or if it's even possible) using HTML 4. It'll be durned cool to be able to do it.
